A classic skirt suit for long time wear is made of Harris Tweed heavy wool fabric hand woven in Scotland. Each piece could be worn with other separates making it very versatile. The herringbone tweed is light gray and light tan warmed with violet and purple woven strips and gold and pink flecks. It gives an over all impression of becoming rose taupe. The jacket with shoulder pads closes with two variegated tan colored 3/4" diameter buttons; three matching smaller buttons are on each sleeve. On the upper left front is a functional pocket; on the lower front are two welt pockets with rounded 1 1/2" flaps that can be tucked in. The back has a center seam with side back fitting seams. The waist band of the skirt closes with a button above a mid back plastic zipper; inseam side pockets. At the mid back bottom is an 8" long vent. Both the jacket and skirt are lined with dark gray rayon twill fabric. There are three labels on the jacket: 1. Harris Tweed (See image above); 2. di Benedetto, New York, Milan (makers of fine tailored garments); 3. Professionally Dry Clean & Press, Made in USA of Imported Fabric. On the skirt: Professionally dry clean only, made in USA, Imported Fabric, Size 18.
