1940's Hart Shaffner & Marx Heavy Wool Twill Overcoat 2-301
This well tailored warm and heavy taupe colored wool calvary twill overcoat can be worn over both brown and blue suits. Fine tailoring details include hand worked button holes, edge stitching on the collar and lapels and sleeve linings sewed in by hand. It closes mid front with variegated gray buttons under a wide placket. Two matching smaller buttons are on each cuff with 2" wide tapered adjustable sleeve bands. Slanted pocket bands; reach through pocket slits allow access to trouser pockets. The lower mid back has a 17" long vent. Seams are taped. The upper back of the half lining is brown rayon; the remainder of the back lining, lining of the sleeves and front lining to below the pockets is gray rayon twill. There are
two 1/4" inconspicuous self darns; one darn is on the lower right front near the hem and one is on the left bottom sleeve edge.
Size: XL - 46.
Measurements: 50" chest; 17 1/2" sleeve length measured from under arm seam; 18" upper mid back sleeve seam to sleeve seam width; 46" mid back length; 62" bottom circumference excluding overlaps. Remember to allow about 4" of ease beyond your actual measurements so the coat will fit properly over your clothes.
