1900 Corset Cover 7-506

This sleeveless corset cover is made of white cotton almost sheer batiste fabric. Corset covers were designed to worn on the outside of corsets, but this could also have been a camisole to worn under a corset. In current usage both garments are usually called camisoles and worn as outer garments in place of a blouse. Hand done button hole stitch embroidery is on the scalloped neck and arm openings. A small floral design is embroidered in white on each side of the upper bodice. Hand worked eyelets guide the 1/4" wide lavender satin ribbon drawstring at he neckline. A white drawstring is at the waist. One hook and closure at the mid front.

There is a small patch on right armhole.

Size: Small - Narrower back with a bosomy front for the pigeon front effect popular between about 1900-1905.
Measurements: 38” bust; waist adjustable with drawstring; 17” arm opening circumference; 10” mid back length; 16” from shoulder seam across the bust to the bottom of the garment.
