1950s Silk Blouse 8-102
This type of tailored yet feminine detailed blouse was worn under suits in the 1940’s and 1950’s. They are hard to find in good condition because they often received so much wear. This blouse is made of pale gold slubbed silk fabric. The high faced round neckline has nine rows of stitching. On the mid front is a 2" wide panel with twenty four rows of vertical stitching attached to the blouse only in the center. Bust room is provided with shoulder flanges. The short sleeves have three rows of stitching on the 1 1/4" wide cuffs. Fitting darts on the front and back. Five gold colored translucent buttons are under a 1 1/2" wide covered placket; a snap is at the top of the placket. Double stitched hem so the blouse could be worn as an over blouse.
