
1970's Alfred Shaheen Hawaiian Block Print Dress 8-205
"Alfred Shaheen is one of the best known of the Hawaiian garment and textile designers of the 20th Century," according to the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource.
The fabric in this coat dress is of finely woven cotton and polyester. On the front and back are graduated asymmetrically placed traditional Hawaiian block print square designs. The V neckline has a notched collar The 18" long front placket measured from the top button closes with four 3/8" diameter pearlized pale gold buttons. Angled darts shape the bust line. The long sleeves have 3 1/4" wide turn back cuffs. The body of the dress is fully lined with light weight gold rayon fabric. Label: Alfred Shaheen, Hand Wash.
