1940's Pink Floral Pattern Cotton Lace Dress/Gown 8-211
This floral pattern medium pinkish taupe colored cotton lace dress has characteristics of several time periods. This best dress or gown is most common of those from the 1930's through the 1940's in a rare plus size. It is full length or mid calf length depending on the height and width of the wearer. The bodice has natural shoulders with three pleats from each shoulder seam and six 3" long pleats at the bottom. There is a tuck down each three fourths length sleeve with a button at the bottom. Four tabs held in place with buttons are at the high round neckline for a scarf as shown or pearls - one at mid front and mid back and on each shoulder seam. On a narrow band down the mid front of the bodice are six 1/2" diameter lustrous shell pink/taupe buttons. Front and back each have three panels with tucks on the seams. The front skirt has a shaped set in waist. The back waist has an elastic section in the back and sides. The dress slips over the head with no placket.
