1940's Hirschcraft Heavy Teal Wool Plaid Lined Overcoat 9-415

This warm interlined heavy teal colored brushed wool twill coat with straight lines would have been worn by a school girl who walked to school or a young working woman waiting for the bus. It buttons high under the wide pointed collar with one of the three 1 1/4" diameter flat composition matching buttons with lustrous raised incised edges; a smaller matching button is on each sleeve bottom. A fourth matching button has been sewed into the hem. The button holes are hand worked. The back has a deep curved pointed yoke. The colorful lining is black, red, olive and cream colored plaid cotton flannel twill over a gray flannel interlining. Label: Hirschcraft of California.
