Late 1940's Princess Style Wool Coat with Fox Fur Collar 9-418

A beautiful detailed feminine black medium weight wool crepe coat influenced by designer Dior's "New Look" launched in 1947. It's tiny waist and wide flared skirt introduced a new silhouette which became prevalent in the 1950's. The high banded neckline buttons with a self covered button. A 39" long sumptuous medium reddish brown fox fur detachable collar has wide double front tips. It tapers from 5" wide at mid back to 7 1/2" wide at the front. At the waist are two covered 1 1/2" diameter buttons with raised decorative edges. Front side panels curve inward to a point at the waist. Below the waist on each side front is a rounded top 4 panel gore which tapers from 3" wide at the top to 9" wide at the hem. The lining is black heavy crepe back satin with light weight black net and fiber interlining.

Measurements: 36" bust; 36" waist; 40" hips; 16" sleeve length measured from under arm seam; 13 1/2" upper mid back sleeve seam to sleeve seam width; 39" mid back length; 52" bottom circumference excluding lap over. Remember to allow about 4" of ease beyond your actual measurements so the coat will fit properly over your clothes.
