1920s Petal Dress C-054
This mauve/old rose colored silk taffeta dress has been restored for display or to wear for a photo. It is wonderful example of early 1920’s girls party dress. The scoop neckline and sleeve openings are self bound. The main design feature of the dress is the asymmetrical hem skirt made in the shape of 12 gathered petals. The bottom row of 6 is attached to a pale beige sheer silk crepe under skirt. The top row of 6 is gathered onto the self piped dropped waist line. Each petal is self bound. The underskirt is finished with 7 1/2" of stylized gold pattern metallic lace. The front bodice yoke seam is embellished with 3 self hand made flowers. A large hand made flower with a streamer is on the left side front, with a smaller one on the right side front. The side bodice side placket closes with hooks and eyes and snaps.
