1890’s Boy’s Dress
C-060

This dress of fine weave white cotton broadcloth could have been worn either by a boy or girl. The somewhat tailored style with high wing collar with a squared collar in back are clues that is was likely a boy’s dress. The collar and the bottom of the long sleeves are edged with 1" wide white work. The front and back has three 1/2" wide tucks on each side. The skirt is gathered below the dropped waist. The dress closes at center front with eleven 3/8" diameter buttons. The buttonholes are hand worked. There are two narrow horizontal tucks at the bottom skirt above a two inch wide scalloped white work edging.
