1940's Cabin Craft Oak Leaf and Acorn Spread H-009

This cotton spread has a tight looped (needle tuft -uncut chenille) cream colored oak leaf and acorn design on a textured white background. The two tones makes the design more visible. 6" long white fringe is on three sides including the rounded bottom. Label: Cabin Crafts Bedspread, individually crafted by American Craftsmen. This company was started as a home craft enterprise in Georgia in the 1930's. Their collectible spreads are prized examples of Americana.

Very Good condition.
The body of the spread is in excellent condition. There is a noticeable 16" long machine mended horizontal tear 12" down from the top. Because the spread is so long it could be shortened from the top, or the mend could be placed under pillows, etc.

Measurements: 88" x 118". This is a generous double bed size, or it would work for a queen size bed with a dust ruffle.
