Who We Are
Marian Posey has owned Vintage Vanities Clothing since 1985. Marian learned about fabric, line, color, style, quality and much more both from her mother and from 4-H clothing classes in rural Idaho led by the daughter of a St. Louis, Missouri tailor and in college classes. After a California and Idaho college teaching career in Early Childhood Education she retired to an acreage and to vintage clothing. Marian loves her roots, but also the choices, movement and diversity of cities. She feels she has the best of all possible worlds! Husband Charles (Chuck) Wilson irrigates, minds the animals, helps with packing and shipping and is unfailingly supportive. Marian’s versatility, her wide range of interests including historic architecture and historic western sites, and her research skills, have made her a knowledgeable, consistent provider of everyday to high end clothing for theater groups, dealers, collectors and for those seeking an individualized wardrobe.

Multi-talented Vanessa Quinlan learned needle skills from both grandmothers, the mother of a childhood friend and her grandmother. She was one of the first female building inspectors in Southern California. The stories she can tell! Vanessa now lives in a small community in Idaho where she is renovating and decorating a large unique home with her husband and raises ducks, chickens, and turkeys to donate to church food banks. She designs one-of-a-kind quilts and dolls, and is a self employed textile and quilt restoration specialist. Beading, crochet, macrame, embroidery, applique, knitting, sewing, creative mends--she does it all. Her creativity and sense of color is a real asset in restoring vintage clothes to wearable condition.
