 1940's National Recovery Board Black Wool Twill Top Coat
This is a good example of 1940's wartime thrift when the military had priority on wool fabric. Civilian styles were trim and spare using a minimum amount of fabric. This top coat is made of very soft brushed black wool narrow weave twill. Military influence can be seen in the tailoring and the broad shoulders with pads.
